Wellington Phoenix all smiles while training on Wakefield LigaTurf


New Zealand’s A-League football club the Wellington Phoenix love Wellington’s newest artificial football fields.  The twin football fields at Wakefield Park have not been official opened yet but the FIFA standard football field was the obvious choice for the team to train on when all other grounds in the Wellington area were closed this week.

The twin fields are a testament to Wellington City Council’s forward thinking with New Zealand being named as the host for the FIFA under 20 world cup tournament to be held in 2015.  The Wakefield facilities and other recent STI football field installations around Wellington put the city in a perfect position for the FIFA tournament.
